The Department of Research will be holding workshops on Thursday, 24th and Friday, 25th January 2013 that will train on:

  1. Qualitative and Quantitative Research
  2. Preparation of qualitative and quantitative data collection
  3. Data collection in qualitative and quantitative research
  4. Data analysis in qualitative and quantitative research
  5. Reporting in qualitative and quantitative research
  6. Writing literature review of your thesis i.e. structural process for writing literature review:
      • Development of a logical structure for literature review
      • Synthesizing the literature review materials
      • Avoiding plagiarism while writing
      • Proper citing of sources while writing
      • Using evaluative language when critiquing the work of others
      • Linking paragraphs to form coherent texts
  7. Methods and results sections (e.g. in discrete research chapters of a composite thesis)
  8. Research Ethics
  9. Referencing
